What kind of hair do you enjoy doing?
Curly hair tends to be my favorite because I have curly hair myself. I know the struggle of getting a good haircut when you have hair that most people consider to be harder to work with.
What inspires you?
All the bad haircuts I had growing up. It’s amazing how the right haircut can make you feel. I like helping people be more confident and happy with themselves and their lives. My biggest inspiration is the satisfied people who love what I did for them.
What kind of music do you like?
I try not to limit myself to any one kind of music. I’m a drummer, so as long as it has a good beat I’m pretty content with it. Drumming is such a huge part of my life. It’s a great way to vent when I need to relax, or just a fun way to kill time. Plus it seems people always need a drummer. I love making noise with different people. I’m not in a band so it’s nice having the freedom to make sweet sounds with different people.
They don’t like water. It’s interesting to me that dating websites are now being used to breed humans. I think they are taking over the world for real. Maybe my smart phone’s a robot.
What is your alter ego name?
Grizzly Adams the bearded barber
What flavor of ice-cream describes your personality?
Mint chocolate chip. You love me or you hate me. I’m a little weirder than vanilla chocolate chip but that’s part of my charm.
What is your super power?
I can fly. But only for short periods of time. It’s pretty awesome. Some people call it jumping, but they just don’t want to accept that I have super powers. Also I can cook minute rice in 59 seconds.
I am pretty into post-apocalyptic things. I attend an event in the desert called Wasteland Weekend. It’s like a post-apocalyptic renaissance fair. Or I guess another way to put it is that it’s a cross between burning man and a Mad Max movie. I make my own costume and help set up the event. Once the event starts I barter haircuts for anything people are willing to trade. That’s where I got the nick name Grizzly Adams. I also have gotten all sorts of awesome stuff for my work like beer, pasta, even a hug one time. It’s mainly Mohawks but what do you expect. I love what I do.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was young I had three dream jobs. I wanted to be a pro skater. I wanted to be a professional drummer, and when I was really young, I wanted to make video games.
Who’s your idol?
All my friends and family. The people in my life inspire me. I don’t care about famous people I’m never going to meet. I look up to those around me. I always try and surround myself with people I idolize. It helps me see my goals and makes it easier to live up to them. I think this helps you become the person you want to be. You are a product of your environment. Hang out with people doing big things with their lives and you too will find success.
Can I sit with you?
Any day, any time. But I’m only truly cool when I’m cutting hair.
